Approximate Data Availability

Postby BEDEDOG » Wed Sep 16, 2009 10:10 am

I have been tagging butterflies in my classroom with my students this fall. My students have asked a few times about when we might know if any of our butterflies were seen in Mexico. Does anyone know an approximate date (month) that this information becomes available? Is the tagger notified somehow or do we just keep checking the Monarch Watch web site?

Thanks

Monarch Watch personel typically visit the overwintering sites in Mexico in late February to buy tags from the sanctuary workers and residents and then the tag recovery information is posted sometime in March.

2008 tag recoveries, but they do not list the tagger, just the person recovering and the date.
