Okay, look at the picture of the Monarch on the right. It isn't a boy. Boys have thin veins on their upper wings. Right. This one has thick veins, but it also has the dots on the lower hind wing.

This may be a better shot.

Actually it is a male, the swollen "dots" are Scent Glands that pickup scents of females, or so i've read.

But, the veins in the wing are not those of a boys.

Scroll down and compare the picture of the boy and girl. The boy has thin veining on the upper wing.

I realize this but there has been cases even with my butters that a male has pretty strong pigmented veins

In that case, maybe its not a male, but part female. Things can happen genetically that would cause a creature to be male and female.

If you really get into breeding, you will see things that are amazing. Inside a 10x12 screen tent, not much space to hide.

I've been inside my tent with 100 Monarchs. It was awesome. I could hear their wings as they floated around the tent.
