photo shariing

Postby drexel.n@gmail » Thu Jul 02, 2009 9:31 pm

I'd like to suggest creating a flickr group page where we could share our pictures with each other. I'd love to see the pics people have taken this spring! I belong to another group page, so I know how easy it is. I'd be more than happy to help administrate it. Any takers?

(Flickrite chiming in) Cool idea. :) My monarchs are a different species than D. plexippus, though.

I just figured out how to add photos to MW's facebook fan page! And now that I look, I see the little "add image" button here, too. Woo Hoo!

I think this is cool idea too!!!!

Very cool picture of the cat on the flower bud.

What kind of camera and lense? I'm assuming this was with macro lense.

I started a photo album on the Monarch Watch Facebook page. I titled it "Mona Miller" only 4 photos so far.

The kids' photos with the Monarchs were taken by William Folsom. He just published a book on digital butterfly photography. Jim posted a link so that if you buy the book from amazon, Monarch Watch will get part of the sell:

Here's the post with the link.

Mona - can you post a link (you are so good at links!!)? I looked at both the fan page and the friend page and I don't see your album. I know I'm doing something wrong, but if you can link me to it... :D

Thanks bunches!

I couldn't figure out to upload other than one picture on Monarch Watch's Facebook. I found out that I had actually uploaded them to my facebook.

See if that works. It it doesn't here are the pictures.

Sure. I don't know how to do that. Technology is catching up with me. But, if I get an email from facebook, I'll respond. You can send it to runmede@gmail.com. That's my generic email.

It didn't work. Guess we'll have to ask Jim how to do it.

Thanks! :D

I shoot with a Nikon Coolpix 4500, a model that was discontinued in 2004 (I think). It's just a compact camera with a very good in-built macro mode. The picture of the tiny caterpillar on the milkweed bud is a crop of part of the original photo, though... The cat was just too small! (The rest of the pics on my Flickr gallery may have been cropped just a little in order to center the subject, but never to bring it closer, so they're practically all full-frame photos.)
