Fall 2008 migration

Postby Orangeaid » Thu Oct 02, 2008 11:43 am

The fall migration just hit my back yard here in southern NJ. I just checked the butterfly bushes out back and saw well over 20 monarchs feeding away. After all the doom and gloom talk about the lack of sightings this fall it felt good to see something positive in the wild population.

Still seeing a steady flow of monarchs along the beach everyday for the last week. Not huge numbers but enough to try not to hit them when iam driving. It looks like we will be getting some easterly winds the next couple of days so that should help push them along their way.

Well i think it's officially over here in My area of southern NJ. I have not seen a Monarch feeding on the butterfly bushes for the last 3 days. I hope they show up in some decent numbers in Mexico and we do not here of very low numbers returning. Hope all had a great year rearing and enjoying these awesome butterflys . Hopefully we will all be back next year talking about this passion we have for the Monarch.
