Hi all,
My last chrysalis hatched today, total of 148 butterflies this year. 5 didn't make it to hatching and 2 others hatched but the wings didn't develop. Overall a successful year.

Absolutely a good Monarch year for you. That's a ton of work.

This has been my best year ever as far as the number of reared Monarchs go. My numbers for the year are as follows . 722 eggs taken in . 680 cats put into cages this year. 612 monarchs released to date with about 25 still in chrysalis form.I have used all of my 200 tags up except for 10 that my wife will use for her 1st grade class Monarch tagging project. Needless to say this year has taken a large toll on me regarding effort and time. I hope next year i still have the motivation to do as much as i did this year. Lately i have not seen many Monarchs except for the ones that i have been releasing and i have not seen a monarch egg since September started. Hope everyone enjoyed and continues to enjoy the 2008 tagging season

No laying here either or mating. A couple of males in my yard are fightly over squatters rights.
