Milkweed Sightings

Postby crazygran43 » Sun Aug 31, 2008 5:15 am

I need help fast! I'm in Richmond, Virginia and this is my first year raising Monarchs. I rescued 26 cats and they have quickly gone thru my garden plants! Does anyone know if there is a place in town to find Milkweed....store,field,whatever?! #-o

I sent your message via regular email to a person I know that has been purchasing some from a nursery in Richmond. Go early in the morning and drive around. If you can ID it, then that is the first step. Wherever you collect it, do it safely. I take a bucket of water with me. It wilts very fast. Or, locate it in the morning and cut in the evening. Don't break the law. Don't collect from some one's property without getting permission.

[size=150]Thank you so much! I never realized how hard it is to find wild milkweed! If I knew where that nursery was; I could save these energetic sweethearts. I plan to plant a lot more for the next cycle! :) [ /size]
