This article talks about how red pentas is loved by butterflies and hummingbirds. It also details how to grow it from cuttings.

That was a really interesting article about the red pentas. That's what I have planted in my garden. The only thing that writer was mistaken about was that the state butterfly of Florida is the ZEBRA LONGWING, not the Gulf Frittilary! I have Longwings that frequent my backyard and they love my Firebush even more than the pentas.

I often write people who post articles when I find mistakes. I actually had one lady who said she wrote cocoon instead of chrysalis because she felt people were more familiar with the word cocoon.

I did respond to the writer and gave her the source to check on which is the "Bible" for us here in Florida--"Florida Butterfly Gardening" by Marc & Maria Minno. They are professors at the Univ. of Fla. in Gainesville. Hopefully, she'll check it out.
