Monarchs on the Lake

Postby signlady » Mon Jun 18, 2007 4:50 pm

Every year, it seems we schedule our life around the Monarch migration in the fall, trying to recapture a glorious experience.

During the supposed peak day for our area, we headed out on the lake to sit and wait for the Monarchs. Before long, they were all around us.

We are floating in the middle of the lake, and they're playing and frolicking and flying all around us. It is an experience that can only be described to another Monarch lover.

In recent years, the droughts, etc., have changed their migration pattern and we don't see as many. I'm hoping with all the rain we've had in Oklahoma this year, they'll be here in larger numbers again.

Sorry, didn't think to take a camera. I will this year!

Did the Monarchs make it this year? Did you take your camera?

Hi!

Yes, they came, but in limited quantities. We'd see 1-3 at a time, but not the great numbers that we used to see. No, I didn't get any photos.

I'll hope for another good migration in 2008! :D
