This was one of our last monarchs passing through the garden this season (they are getting fewer and fewer). Like most of the butterflies, this one found that the Mexican Sunflower was one of it's favourites.
This Great Spangled Fritillary however, decided that it preferred the rudbeckia.

Thanks for the beautiful photos. I'll have to get some of those Mexican sunflowers next summer. Yes it's getting very quiet here too, always a bit sad, but time to start getting ready for next year!
