Rose Campion as a nectar plant

Postby butterflyman » Wed Jun 20, 2007 5:46 am

Has anyone ever seen butterflies nectar on Rose Campion.

It's a beautiful flower, but I've never seen a butterfly on it.

Thanks

I have been observing my Rose Campion since you posted this question, and I have seen no butterflies go to those plants. Our garden is full of other flowers and the butterflies are quite active at most. One naturally notices plants that they go to a lot, but it is funny how I have never noticed that none of them seem to visit the Rose Campion!

Thanks John.

I try to specialize in butterfly plants, so the Rose Campion will have to go.

I've done that also with a type of Golden Rod, Fireworks) which was beautiful, but apparently didn't provide any nectar.
