Limo Service for Monarchs?

These late caterpillars were found in the cemetary where I had purchased my plot for burial. (I was just there to see the area to make sure I would be near other relatives. I am just 50 but the plots are going fast).
They were in the J stage on Sept 29 when I checked them and little did I expect they would survive the SD wind and cold. SURPRISE! they hatched out on 13 OCT 2006 so what was I to do???? A friend who winters in Texas said she would help out by giving them a ride south. I packed up the critters in my little "bug barn" and sent them off with Juicy Juice and water for food. She tended to their needs daily and says they enjoyed their stay overnight in the hotel as well!! :D When she arrived in Donna TX 19 OCT 2006 they were released. Some nearby oleander bushes provided that days lunch and they were not seen again. They only had 8 miles to the border of US/Mexico. Sorry to say the one had a tag that I later discovered to be the "Do Not Use" sticker. I recorded it as a page number for the data base.
