It's December and Ihave cats and chrysalis

Postby Virginia Monarchs » Wed Dec 01, 2004 9:20 am

I have 6 chrysalis and 4 cats in the J position and two more looking for their spots to hang. I also have one more small cat on my Mexican Milkweed. I still have Mexican milkweed blooming and I also have lantana for nectar but we will soon have a hard freeze and I will lose it all. Does anybody out there in this area Chesapeake Virginia, near Virginia Beach, want my Monarchs who has a place for them to survive. I've had a few come out of their chrysalis and I've managed to keep them for a couple of days (feeding them Juicy Juice) until there was a warm day and then I released them. They had fun flying around and eating and I'm hoping they started their journey but I don't know what will happen to the chrysalis I still have in my containers. Any teachers with a classroom exhibit for butterflies???? Anybody?
