Avatar Suggestions, Anyone?

Postby Jim » Tue Jul 20, 2004 10:56 pm

An AVATAR is a small graphic used to represent your online identity. It appears under your username in any postings you make and is also visible in your profile that may be browsed via the Memberlist link above. You can see my current avatar over there on the left - pretty cute, huh? :cheesy:

If you'd like to use an avatar you can choose from the few graphics that I have already provided in the avatar galleries - accessible via the Profile link above (you must be logged in to edit your profile).

I'll be periodically adding graphics so if you have suggestions for other avatars please feel free to let me know by responding to this message and I'll see what I can do.

Cheers! :D

Do you have any suggestions for AVITARS?

Postby monarchmama » Thu Aug 10, 2006 9:52 am

Hi Everyone!

I am new to the forum, but have been involved with raising and tagging monarchs for some time now. I also do graphics and photography in my spare time.

I find that avitars help me scan and catch up on new posts, making it easier to identify other members. I noticed that several avitars are used by multiple members and sometimes that makes it confusing at times to identify who is posting at a quick glance.

Jim has graciously allowed me permission to submit some avitars to be used by the forum. I have many monarch photos in all stages of development that I will be turning into avitars . I also plan to make up a series of comic and smiley avitars using my graphics program. If all works out well, this will give us a bit more variety to choose from when setting up our profiles.

If anyone has any suggestions or ideas for avitars, please feel free to share them here, as all input is welcome. :D

Here are a few I worked on last night . . . . . . . .

avatar suggestions

Postby monarchmama » Mon Aug 21, 2006 10:11 am

What a cute idea Farfalla - I will work on it - should be pretty simple to do, and I can make several with different emotions.

Neat pics Chadmer! I can size any pic down to an avatar but I need an uncut picture to start with, or one that is cropped evenly square framing the subject. If you can send me originals I can crop and size them down myself.

So as not to take up board space please send to my e-mail:

Thanks for the suggestions! Anybody else out there have a favorite pic they think would work, just send it my way! :D
