Milkweed infested with different caterpiller

I recently was able to establish some common milkweed and last week when I checked on it one plant was totally covered in these caterpillers. When you touch them, their "fur" comes off easily. They finished off one plant and then split up and went onto other plants. Any ideas what this caterpiller is? Thanks

They are milkweed tussock moth cats - cute but they can strip milkweed down to bare bones.

I have those as well and have decided that I don't want them so I guess you could say I "relocated them"
Sorry they are just too all consuming and don't seem to be on the endangered list! (except in my monarch garden)

Now if I could get rid of the Tachnid fly I'd be very happy
