Aug 2 is it to early for Monarch's. Cause I'm sure I saw one - twice yesterday at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington at the Laking Garden in the Perrennial area at 1pm.ish.

Today, Aug 3, I saw a Red Admiral - twice at the Perrenial gardens of Casa Loma in Toronto at Spadina & Davenport, around 2pm,ish.

Monarch/RedAdmiral & Hummingbird...It's 7:10pm here in Niagara Falls, & I just saw my 1st Hummingbird feeding in my front yard on the 2nd yr. big White butterfly bush. He went to about 4or 5 flowers before he left. I'm so excited to finally get them here. I got my Canadian Wildlife Backyard Habitat certification in the spring & my yard front picture in the Nation Trade magazine "Landscape Trades" with a plug for cwf.
I have lots of gold finch feeding on the cosmos now. It's so wonderful. rburke Niagara Falls, Ont. CANADA

I'm so glad I started this type of butterfly garden, in the front yard too, it's only 2 yrs old in the front & 3 in the back & I now have hummingbirds this year for the 1st time. & my 1st swallowtail & the past yr. or 2 an ever increasing number of butterfly #'s & species which I hadn't seen since childhood 40 or 50 yrs. ago. I would highly recommend the practice. rettab
