Fertilizing Milkweed

Postby flgflowers » Tue Apr 04, 2006 6:45 am

Several weeks ago, when I was fertilizing my flower garden, I fertilized some of my milkweed plants using a sprinkling can. I was using MiracleGro. Will this kill CATS that eat on these plants? :(

After just reading, in the 'Pests on Milkweed' topic. that even Malathion can be washed of the plants making them 'safe', I would assume that any fertilizer residue could also be washed off if you were worried about it.

I have no REAL knowledge of this (not even experience), but I'd assume that it wouldn't be a problem for the butterflies/caterpillars unless the MiracleGro had something about insect repellent/poison in it. Just my guess. :cheesy:
