Less participation on MW than in the past?

Postby freda » Mon Aug 06, 2012 6:52 pm

Hi everyone! It seems that there has been a significant decline in the numbers of posts and in the variety of participants over the last couple of years...has something changed? Someone suggested there is more action over on the Monarch Watch Facebook page but it's still slow. I just had a bit of a hehe thinking that when I first found MW, I was so new to all of this that everything I read seemed fascinating and significant and I read EVERYthing that was posted, even the archives. Maybe that's the explanation.

There's more action on the dplex-L email list.

First thought, I know that I had difficulty logging on this year and last, and thank goodness found a note scribbled with a password on it in my internet book. If you forget any of your previously registered info., it is nearly impossible to get back into the forums. I kept getting the error message...."this email address has already been registered", with no options for having my forgotten info. emailed to me. This would be very helpful.

One other suggestion might be that it has been an extremely busy year. I started finding eggs here in N.J. a month early, and by the time the Olympics was on, was spending 4 hours a night changing my pillars. This didn't include the time finding eggs, weeding milkweed patch, and harvesting milkweed from other sources around town so all mine wasn't depleted. Left little time for much else in the day! Haven't been on Facebook since the beginning of June when the Monarch Express came running full speed into town. I was on the forums for the first time yesterday, and usually check in often during the summer in past years. 10pm and I still need to feed my dozen butterflies! Better go!

If anyone has any problems, Jim Lovett (Monarch Watch Guru) should be contacted. He is the moderator for this list and can help you.
