trouble eclosing

Postby Cassie » Wed Oct 10, 2012 9:01 am

Hi, esteemed knowledgeable ones,
I have a darkened pupa - since yesterday - and can't visually detect anything wrong, but it hasn't opened yet, and I'm getting a bit worried. Have you advice on how to help it along, or should I just leave it? I put it outside overnight to get ambient moisture. It was chilly but not cold, overnight. Thanks in advance. Cassie.

Wow! I'm delighted to say, I just hadn't waited long enough. The beauty has popped out, and is busy waving its wings!

Temperatures do affect how long it takes for them to emerge. My inside temp is no longer 77-80, it is now 73 and that is with the heat on.
