Saving Monarchs for Programs (videos)

Postby Mona Miller » Mon Sep 10, 2012 9:40 pm

I know many of you do tagging programs or need to save Monarchs or feed Monarchs due to increment weather. I am forever inventing or reinventing ways to safely keep Monarchs until they are needed for programs.

This year I am using the wine cooler again. I bought a cheap one for under $100 from Target. Rubbermaid canister with a Port-a-Bug net container inside (no glassine envelopes). Carolina Biological cool net container with zipper lower opening. Live Monarch cube for feeding. And, the wonderful Monarch Watch Condo--I hope they get more in stock soon. Here are a few videos I took to detail the process.
