I am proud to announce that I found 6 cats in my garden last night. 1st & 2nd instar, along with 3 eggs.

I have also seen a flurry of Monarch Butterfly's in my garden. Always a lovley thing to see.

Just wehn I was about to give up for the season.

That's exciting! More Monarchs to raise!

Egg collecting is slowing way down, but I collected 2 eggs in my garden a couple days ago, and collected 10 eggs today when I was out collecting wild milkweed for the large instars. A neighbor down the street has a patch in front of her house, which she doesn't mind me checking, and there were 4 eggs there. I found 6 in the milkweed field, so obviously there are still eggs being laid by somebody there. Also found 3 small instars, and a beautiful big 5th instar (debated leaving him there, just couldn't bear the thought of a predator getting him).

Our season is short, so I'm still excited to get more eggs as late in the year as possible.
