I am elated to be able to say that I finally found my first eggs of the season yesterday at one of the spots I check a few miles from my home. Whew, I though it would never happen this year! There were 7 of them, and 6 have already hatched, so now I already have some little tiny babies to pamper. There were no signs of them at all up until this point, and this is a good 4-5 weeks later than normal for me. Now I have to hasten them along, as we go on vacation in less than 3 weeks. I've had to beg family and friends (former friends?) to take care of large numbers of them, in various stages of development, when we've gone away in the past which was difficult. So I'd like to get these guys into chrysalis form so that maybe my neighbor's kids can just release them when they eclose. I didn't even let my husband see that I'd brought some home to raise again, 'cause he might kill me! He's seen the trouble I had getting people to take them off my hands in the past.
