I released my last 2 monarchs today, a female and a male. They brought my total to 1055 reared and 763 tagged. I have a few tags left and am seeing still quite a few monarchs at parks along the waters edge.

It wasn't as good as it could have been with my success rate for 2011 only 81%. But nonetheless, It was fun, rewarding and during late August and early September, very busy.

Let's wish them all well, hope they make it through the dry Hell of Texas and make a successful return to breed next spring.

Congrats to all who raise these beauties, even if it is a handful. It is more than they get on their own.

Let's all list our totals on this thread. I need to gather the numbers from our other members. I know the totals will be much lower than last year. But you're right -- have to keep in mind it's 10x the number that would have survived out in the wild.
