Last summer, when I used Frontline I had 3 cats hanging in "J" who started to form their chrysalises, but they couldn't complete the molt. If you read how Frontline works, it says it interrupts the life cycle of the fleas, so they can't mature and reproduce--just what happened to the cats. The only good thing about it was that is was only 3 cats.
My felines never go outside, and they'd never had fleas before, but we raised a litter of stray kittens who had fleas. I didn't use Frontline on them, because they were too young, but my cats ended up with fleas. I was able to bathe the kittens in warm water, which drowns the fleas, but it's hard to keep an animal's body in the water long enough. I wouldn't have used the Frontline, except one of my cats is long-haired and there is no way I would ever be able to use one of those little flea combs on her. Plus, even bathing her would be nearly impossible. Her fur is so thick the water would never reach her skin.
