After first sighting of female last week (Maine), I went looking today for eggs or signs of cats and found none. But I did find something and wonder if you can help identify? 29 meticulously laid, creamy white eggs that look like a monarch's were on one leaf. This isn't the way female monarchs lay so what else could it be? I was going to just keep a watch on them but was afraid they'd get eaten and then I would never know so I brought them home. I was able to get a good picture.
