Hello Mid-Atlantic folks
I often have chickadees nest in the birdhouses in my backyard. They usually feed the young uns ripe mulberries. The hole of the birdhouse gets stained with red mulberry juice.
This year, the parents are feeding them tiny, unripe mulberries. I've never written the dates down for the mulberries or the chickadees before, but I'm guessing the mulberries are on time and the chickadees are early? Anyone else experiencing this?
And we've already had one wren brood (in a little basket on a shelf under the half-covered porch). The wrens are starting their second brood in the other birdhouse now.
