while most of my milkweed is already in the "pod" stage and a lot of the leaves are drying out, this stuff is very young-either in the middle of flowering, or just before the flowering stage. Since without this recently found crop of young plants I would be hard-pressed to find enough young leaves to feed my cats (I am still finding eggs),I wondered - Is it a good idea to "mow" or "cut down" a large fraction of my future milkweed crop, shortly after it comes up in the growing season,so that later in the season there will be a supply of young leaves?
