Plz look i need help, AGAIN

i found a buckeye butterfly, and its missing a lot of scales and a itty bitty bit of its forewing. what should i do? its on my thumb right now while im typing!!! it cant fly, only flutters for about a foot. will it get more scales after a while? or will the scales that it lost never "grow" back?

set it free. it flew away perfectly. i think itll be fine

Butterflies don't grow new scales. But, they can fly with about 1/3 of their wings and practically no scales. I've seen some pretty tattered butterflies flying perfectly. I'm glad it was able to fly away. I think butterflies like you.
