Locally, here in KC the spider milkweed pods have opened and the seeds are blowing away. I am saving some and will be happy to share if anyone wants them. Common milkweed, green, and purple milkweed have bloomed and are now setting pods. Butterfly and whorled are in bloom now. Swamp is getting close and will soon be active. It is the one that appears to me to get the biggest play. The early migrators who head off to the north are long gone and our local summer population is now flitting about and enjoying the summer. I've not found any youngsters but my nine year old granddaughter did locate one on a milkweed plant at her house.
