Asclepias tuberosa 'Hello Yellow'

Postby maryeleek » Mon Mar 15, 2010 1:06 pm

I currently have this seed germinating and I'm wondering how much growth I can expect in the first year (providing I meet the plants growing requirements). Should I expect blooms the first year from seed? It is a perennial so I'd expect not but thought I'd ask as I'm trying to decide just where in my small garden to plant them for their first season of growth.

I live in z7b, central Arkansas.

My thanks for your time and comments,

Mary

I got some small plants of butterfly weed from a friend last year. She starts her's in January. I planted these out in a part to fun sun and some of them did bloom the first year. I did keep them watered and gave them some fertilizer.
