Hi,
Help. I found 2 monarchs today, 1 on my butterfly bush and 1 on my swamp milkweed. It is dreary, damp in the 60s here today. They were hanging underneath the leaves. It will be getting dark here in aobut 1.5 hours. I picked one up and it flapped its wings and just "flew" to the ground. They both just let me pick them up off the bushes.
I put them in my shed in my butterfly house for the night. It is only going to be in the 50s tomorrow but sunny and dry.
Do they have a chance of making it further south if I let them go tomorrow? or is it too late and too cold?
Any advice would be appreciated. They look in good shape--not all tattered.
