Need Austin and San Antonio Monarch hotspots

Postby texas butterfly » Thu Oct 08, 2009 10:12 pm

Any good suggestions on where to see Monarchs in the Austin or San Antonio area?

Might as well add Dallas/Fort Worth area too, since that could be a trip too this month.

My visits would be to these cities in October.

Thanks!!!!

You should post this message to dplex. I think there might be more Texas people on there.

And, check the Journey North maps and posted sighting:

Our backyard in Circle C Ranch in South Austin is full of Gulf Fritillaries all year long, thanks to our Passion Vines. We also have some milk weeds, thus Monarchs & Queens visit us on a regular basis.

We had a tagged Monarch (MMG 814) in our yard over the last two days, and I can't figure out who to report it to.
