Saving milkweed

Hi all........I need some advice. Can I freeze milkweed leaves now for use in September & October? Rabbits have been decimating my gardens this spring. They have been attacking the milkweeds, asters, zinnias, coneflowers, sunflowers, etc. I even set a trap which they successfully avoid tripping.
Today they snapped off a 4 foot tall milkweed which had a lot of leaves. I would like to keep them if I can freeze them.............So far they have been unable to get at the milkweeds that I have in pots on my deck. I just fear I won't have enough milkweed for the new cats this season..............Would appreciate any advice ............
