info on rearing cats

Postby cello4life » Tue Aug 08, 2006 9:39 am

this is the first time I have written to any forum. I am so exited about our new adventure. we have about 38 cats ranging from eggs to pupa. I have learned so much in this past week since I started. Does anyone know of a real good book with all the ins and outs of rearing monarchs. all the books that we have found at the library are targeted more for children, which is good for my kids, but I want simething that gives more detail so I can make sure we are doing everything right

I was also wondering if anybody has had any luck keeping a few through the winter.(we are in Ohio) I want to release most but I would love to see a complete life cycle.

Hi cellolife and welcome!
This website really is an awesome resource for rearing monarchs! The only other books I know of are Monarch Magic and the Family Butterfly Book. Both are great for kids.. but I enjoy them, too!
I don't keep butterflies through the winter.I raise them to increase the population so I only rear them from spring until the fall migration.
Have fun! 8)
