Cat disturbed while pupating

Postby lib66laur » Sat Aug 25, 2012 8:21 am

Ugh. My aquariums are not crowded yet one larva decided to form a J right next to a chrysalis. Bad timing. The butterfly eclosed this morning and its legs we're touching the J while it was trying to pupate. Now I have just a small amount of green showing, a drop of liquid and what appears to be a failed pupation (is that the right word?) I've never had this happen...

I was going to tell you that it may be okay. Even non pupating larvae will leak green fluid. They do that when they are disturbed.
