Mosquito Spray

Postby blazing star » Fri Jul 27, 2012 10:26 pm

Well, they're back contaminating my property. I have them shutting off the truck at my house. I went out to collect leaves and heard the truck on the next block. I collected leaves, hoping that I was able to beat the truck from coming down my block. In order to be cautious, just in case, I rinsed the leaves so thoroughly with water. I scrubbed them and wiped them down with a paper towel.

The cats roamed the leaves for a bit, started twitching, fell from the leaves and are dying. Do I have any options to clean leaves of this poison, or am I doomed?

Which poison is it? Apparently some of the newer stuff can stay on for a good 6 weeks due to additives.

National Pesticide Information Center

Look for Mosquito in the M section.

This is an example of one of the categories:

Strangely enough, all cats made it. I wonder if they are now getting immune to the toxin? I've never seen cats twitch the way they were.

That's great that they suvived. :) I was devastated by the loss of so many cats this year from the pesticide used on the corn field behind our property. It was just sickening.

The only way to rid the corn vs. pesticide issue is if people stopped eating so much beef. I don't see that happening. They're probably using pesticide instead of GMO corn. As Chip has pointed out, GMO cornfields are now removing monarch habitat yet the pesticides used on non GMO corn kill the cats. Both of are issues are probably not going away any time soon, sadly. Good luck with the rest of your season.

From what I understand with the drought, unless there are changes in regulations most of the corn will go to make ethanol.

Someone also told me that the new GMO corn that is designed to stand up in the wind has been causing the farmers to tear up their tires on their tractors and trucks. Apparently, the corn stubble after it is cut is so hard it is almost like the farmers running over nails.

I hadn't heard that problem with GMO busting out tires.
