That's what I do. I feel like I am their mother. I expect them to visit after I let them go and tell them so.

You'd have to wait to see. Some times they do a short roam around and some times a long roam around. Each caterpillar is different.

Well turns out the one fella pupated and its skin was stuck on top. When I noticed it I carefully pulled the skin away . I took these pictures... It looks like his skin got caught while pupating. And he didnt finish all the way...you can make out his legs on the chrysalis....
I am think I should take this one down ...I wouldnt think this would be a successful butterfly would it ?
This one is in a cage with others.

I had one Monarch born yesterday and 2 born today..... I am so happy !!! All female.
Tested the two females and released them...They were beautiful and healthy.
Will test the other in the morning and I noticed another is about ready to come out. I think its going to be a busy week.
And my caterpillars lately have been having a mush easier time J'ing and pupating so I have 8 more healthy chrysalis to add to the list.

Apparently, Project Monarch Health is advising to go ahead and release them unless you have most of your butterflies heavily infected.

Well so far they are healthy...I had my first male today...and two more females.
None of the problem chrysalis are ready yet and those are the ones I am watching a little closer.
But I am happy that I actually had some success after all of not so happy preious weeks.

This picture was from yesterday

That is how it goes some times. The failures are heartbreaking. :(

But, the successes are so uplifting. :cheesy:

Congratulations! :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy:
