Desperate Need of Milkweed leaves

Postby MercuryButterfly » Tue Sep 06, 2005 8:33 am

I built an atrium to raise and release some monarchs in our yard in Albuquerque, NM. My first batch emerged and are now released, but not without laying too many eggs on my milkweed plants. I don't have enough plants to support the number of cats that I may get. I have not found anyone in the greater Abq area who can tell me where to find milkweed in the wild so I am stuck. If anyone can send me bags of milkweed leaves to feed my "future" cats, please send me an email.

Thanks for the help.

I will GLADLY reembirse anyone who sends.

I've seen quite a bit of narrow leafed milkweed (Asclepias subverticillata)
in Tucumcari, NM, but I realize that's quite a distance east of Albuquerque.
Also, there's a huge amount of broadleaf milkweed (Asclepias speciosa) in the Farmington, NM area. Sorry, I havn't searched much for milkweed near Albuquerque.
