Monarchs - finally

Postby Pixie » Tue Aug 17, 2010 7:27 pm

Just as I was giving up hope of having monarchs & cats, 2 weeks ago I found 2 fourth instars - I brought them in & fed them & within 2 days they formed their chrysalis'. Sunday (the 15th) they enclosed & I released them in the afternoon. Over the past several days I have brought in 14 cats - my grand-daughter & my 8 yr. old neighbor boy found many of them before I did. One has formed chrysalis & the rest are munching away.......Most are 3-4th instars & a couple are only 2nd. Hopefully over the next month I'll see some migrating monarchs, eggs & more cats..............

My monarchs didn't come until late July this year. Now, I can't keep them fed. :cheesy:
