Egg Laying

Postby NickiM » Tue Aug 17, 2010 1:38 pm

Does a female lay all of her eggs the same day, or does she spread them out? I'm just wondering, because I've only seen 2 or 3 butterflies around my house this year, but I've already found 22 cats of different sizes. Some of them look several days older than others, but could they still be from the same mother?

They usually spread them around. I've hard the number they can lay in a life time can be as high as 600 eggs. If they are at the end of their life, they may egg dump (lay more eggs than they normally would).
