Question: Light Requirements for Eggs in Containers?

Postby ilsa » Sun Aug 08, 2010 5:21 pm

I apologize in advance if this has been asked and answered before, but do eggs collected on leaves and stored in ventilated containers (per http://monarchwatch.org/rear/index.htm) need a particular amount of light before they hatch? Should they be put under a light or left in a darker place?

I have mine in indirect light. Never direct sunlight.

So, it wouldn't be a good idea to put them under a fluorescent grow light, either, I gather.

Thanks, Mona.

I haven't tried that so I can't give advise. I grow them in indirect light near my small garden window.
