A BUTTERFLY HATCHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MY FIRST BUTTERFLY EVER HATCHED FROM ITS CHRYSALIS. I MISSED IT. I DONT KNOW WHEN IT HATCHED. ALL I KNOW IS WHEN I WENT IN THERE AT 12:00PM TODAY IT WAS THERE. ITS PROBISCUS IS ALMOST FUSED. HERE ARE SOME PICS. OH, AND WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A BOY FROM ITS CHRYSALIS, IS ACTUALLY A GIRL! ITS A GIRL!

They need to dry to their wings for several hours before you release them. Wait at least 3 hours. Normal behavior when they are ready to go is that they will drop down to the bottom of the cage and start fapping their wings. But, if you distrub them that can also make them drop down. Make sure it has been several hours before you let them go. It's a tough world out there and they have to be ready to evade predators.

uh oh. i took it outside and it flew into the neighbors yard. i had only let its wings dry an hour. but it flew away clumsily. is that bad? should i have waited longer? it didnt drop to the bottom of the cage when i released it. uh oh.
