looking for eggs/cats in Kentucky

I raised several caterpillars in Florida, moved last October,and I am all set up here in Central Ky with a variety of milkweed, several healthy plants, but I haven't seen a single monarch, or any wild milkweed to collect from. Is there anyone around the Louisville KY area with any caterpillars to spare so I can get things going over here? (Or should I just be patient and hope some butterflies show up?) I don't want to mail order because I'd feel bad if any died from transport/handling, and I don't know that I could support 15 right now. I'd feel safer with maybe 5 or 6. When I grew milkweed in Florida I never had butterflies until I raised and released some caterpillars in my yard.

I'm still waiting, too. The Monarchs didn't have a good year last year. Very low numbers in Mexico. Then, there was flooding that made the numbers even lower. This year is the latest for me. I usually get them in May. Last year it was at the end of April. Good luck!

I actually got some milkweed from Shooting Star--they are awesome! And I grew several plants myself. I guess I'll just wait and keep growing milkweed until the butterflies show up. I don't want to make butterflies that aren't where they're supposed to be when they're supposed to be there.

I feel the same way. I used to order eggs from Florida, but I found that most of the time they were diseased. So, now I wait until I see them naturally. This year, they haven't found my garden. I'm getting very impatient.
