northeast Houston - caterpillars

Postby texas butterfly » Wed Nov 23, 2011 10:53 pm

followup post to Northwest Houston post.

I'm seeing at least one Monarch daily in my yard. Some are migrators and some are from eggs which have matured to adult butterflies.

Have quite a few caterpillars in yard. most seem to be newly hatched and around 2nd instar. my asclepias currassivica looks great. Almost every plant seems to have some caterpillar chewing on it.

A few other gardens in my area still don't have any eggs or caterpillars. But, I'll keep checking.
