After not seeing monarchs for several weeks, this afternoon a very handsome male spent about 15 minutes feeding on the still blooming lantana. He had gorgeous colors and was perfectly formed, so I am thinking he has not traveled from very far as yet. I am hoping some of the monarchs from the east coast will soon be coming through the St. Louis area.
