West Island, Buzzard's Bay first sighting

June 23 FIrst (very excited) sighting of 2010, in flowering milkweed in back garden. (Second year of garden grown from seeds from Monarchwatch, 2009.) Very late starting springs here on small island in Buzzard's Bay, near Cape Cod, connected by causeway to mainland, but definitely on east coast fall migration route. Many caterpillars last year but very late. First year on 1/4 acre in process of transitioning from invasive plants to native plants, including Monarch Waystation.
