Fellow caterpillar wrangler Dave had 2 adults (females) and one caterpillar which pupated on Sunday 7/31/11 in Manassas, VA. The same day I found a cat in WS3405. Temp 100+.

I'm about 20 minutes away from you. I just recently released over 60 adults. Some were gravid (pregnant) females. Now, I have a tent full of caterpillars--first to second instar.

I just went to see a school waystation in Centreville, VA and met two of the teachers involved. They are very excited to have help and while we were meeting we saw several females laying eggs on swamp and common milkweed. As a parting gift I took home a freshly laid egg. I am really looking forward to helping this school and Fairfax County ES in general. I have 9 chrysalis inside to release in 9 days or so. I love this time of year.

I just released over 130 Monarchs. Boy that was a lot of work.
At Prince William the school had an incredible indoor courtyard garden.
Have you checked out the gardens at Hunters Woods Elementary school in Reston, VA? I helped start those gardens when my kids were in elementary school.
