Finally!!! Female Laying in Gaithersburg, MD!

I finally had a visit from a female this morning here in Gaithersburg, MD! I wish I could paste a small picture of her here for you, but I don't seem to have BBCode privileges.

So, I'm a mom again. Now begins the arduous work of midwifing more Monarchs into the world.

Now, the work starts. My containers are multiply as the larvae grow. I don't put as many larger instars together for the sake of preventing disease.

This year, I'm having trouble with flies. So some are in the tent and some are inside.
