I have a milkweed garden in my backyard and have started to see some more activity in the past few days. A female came yesterday and today busily laying her eggs. I am trying to control the carpenter ants we seem to have in abundance here in Florida to prevent them from eating all the eggs.

If you do get a handle on the carpenter ants, please share your solution. I have a few & am wanting a safe solution, though this may not be the forum to request such info..but you mentioned it. Thanks & God Bless JoyG in coastal NC

I am trying a product called "Grant's Kills Ants"--they are spikes you can stick in the ground and I got it at Home Depot. I put 2 in an area near my garden, covered and secured them with screen, then placed several plastic containers over that to prevent any "good" critters from getting on them. So far, it seems to be working.
