Northwest PA sightings

Postby mlmj0210 » Fri Jul 10, 2009 11:59 am

I've seen nothing here in the Lake Erie section of PA.
We have had cooler than average temps and lots of rain. My milkweed is suffering. The bottom leaves of mature plants are turning yellow and falling off. Consequently my milkweed supply is dwindling except for the baby plants I started this year.

It's a warm, humid, stormy day in Erie PA and I have my first monarch sighting in my garden along with 8 eggs. Will have to collect them starting tomorrow.

It has been a rough summer here in the northeast- very unusual weather. It is Mid August and I am just now starting to see monarchs. I have had no problem finding cats and eggs though. So they are here somewhere! I moved to a new home in January this year so I had no milkweed supply here in my yard so I have made my daily rounds checking anyplace I could find milkweed- which is becoming harder and harder!
