7 May ... First Monarch spotted in Augusta, near Kalamazoo. She is laying eggs on every milkweed she finds in my garden. i can't believe it's starting already .... not sure i'm ready this early :(

I took in a few eggs and left the rest outside. Those outside are growing slower due to the cool weather. Those inside are growing faster. I ended up purchasing some tropical milkweed, too. I'm planting more seeds this week. I planted a bunch of common milkweed and swamp milkweed earlier. It is already pushing through the ground. I think it is going to be a good year, that is, if the weather cooperates.
